If you find yourself meandering through the charming landscapes of Strawn, Texas, make sure to carve out some time for a visit to Zim's Farmers Market & Cafe. Nestled at 10990 TX-16 S, this delightful cafe is a local treasure gleaming with the warmth of downhome hospitality. The cafe unfolds within the historic site of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, where every visit feels like a step back into yesteryear—a perfect blend of nostalgia and freshness.

At Zim's, you'll discover a menu that celebrates the delights of farm-to-table cuisine, offering a variety of scrumptious dishes made from organic and locally-sourced ingredients. Imagine indulging in the fluffy, mouth-watering biscuits, expertly crafted for an undeniably satisfying breakfast experience. Patrons rave about the rich flavors and generous portion sizes, ensuring that every bite is a burst of delight that lingers on the palate.

The cafe is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. With an ambiance that resonates with the nostalgia of a vintage soda fountain bar, it invites you to linger a little longer. Guests can bask in the sun-dappled outdoor seating while enjoying a hearty brunch, making it the ideal spot to reconnect with friends or enjoy a tranquil day out. The warm exchange of smiles and the relaxed pace here reinforce the notion that this is a place to savor both your food and your company.

Standout menu items include the fresh breads brought in by local bakers, as well as the farm-fresh eggs that are lovingly sourced from the owners’ very own farm. The commitment to freshness is palpable; each vegetable brims with flavor, and every dish reflects the care that goes into its preparation. Customer reviews echo this sentiment—“the food is fresh made, the produce is organic and always fresh,” and you can truly taste the difference in every bite.

A visit to Zim's is also a step into the community spirit—the owners are not just vendors but beloved locals who enrich every guest’s experience with their genuine friendliness. As Denise Wright highlights, it’s “not a quick meal”—instead, it’s an experience that invites conversations and connections. You’ll want to take your time, savoring each moment, which is why planning to sit and chat is part of the joy.

Open only on weekends, from 9 AM to 2 PM, Zim's Farmers Market & Cafe is a destination worth the trip, whether you’re a local or a visitor seeking the true essence of Texas hospitality. Come for the food and stay for the community; you'll leave with not just full bellies but warm hearts and newfound friends.

Zim's Farmers Market & Cafe is fantastic. The fiod is fresh made, the produce is organic and always fresh. They have foods that are tasty and not like everyone else's. The owners are extremely friendly and amazing people. This is the original site of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Strawn and is being reatored and cleaned up. It is well worth your time and appitite.

A fresh Farmers Market on Saturdays. Restaurant serves breakfast and absolutely delicious biscuits. A Baker brings fresh breads for sale. The inside is a real soda fountain bar that takes you back to former days. Wonderful folks, we had a great time there! The owner is a professional ceramic Potter and sells very unique gifts and their little store. I can't say enough good stuff about this place!

I've been wanting to go to this Cafe for a long time but I'm not off on Saturdays. I finally had the opportunity to be off on a Saturday so I took my wife to Zim's Cafe for her birthday. When we arrive we were greeted with down-home hospitality they fixed us a outstanding lunch which was very reasonable on the price. We even received a tour of the old structure which was very interesting and the tour guide went into great detail on the history of the buildings in that area. This is a place of Americana this is a absolute must do on a Saturday or Sunday you won't be sorry.

Great place for brunch. Love the outdoor seating. Open only on Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 2 pm. Google maps has the days open opposite of what they actually are.

Delicious! Most of the produce is grown by the husband and wife that own it. Farm fresh eggs. Lots of history. They are very friendly. It's an experience, not a quick meal. Plan to sit and visit if they're busy. It's worth the wait.
